Doodle Bugs

cuddlebug room
0 months - 2 Years

"A baby is born with a need to be loved - and never outgrows it."

  • The cuddlebug room is decorated in gentle neutral colours and is a haven of delight for little ones to explore. We have created a safe and homely environment, which will help your child feel safe and secure at doodlebugs.

  • The room is immaculate, following a rigorous cleaning schedule to wipe away each days sticky fingers. The cuddlebug room has been specifically designed to be safe and secure. The room is very light and spacious with lots of areas for your child to explore. We have a separate changing/toilet area with natural ventilation. The front of the room opens out into our exciting outdoor area.

  • Quality Care & Education
From day one, children are eager and determined to understand how the world works. They do this through play, using all the "tools" they have at their disposal. Play equipment, mobiles, music and toys are regularly changed to encourage our young children and babies to explore. Games and activities are also varied to provide a stimulating learning environment. There are plenty of interactive spaces where your baby can giggle at their reflection, or cuddle up with one of our staff for a story, song or ryhm.
  • Watch your child at play, and you will see the kind of concentration, passion, and creative excitement that little artists and scientists bring to their projects. We understand that early care and education go hand-in-hand, so smiles, songs, and snuggles are considered to be just as important as nappy changes and feeds !

  • As our cuddlebugs grow, they are introduced to varied activities and materials that support their physical, social, and cognitive growth. Drop in early at doodlebugs and you'll find your child happily engaged in daily music and movement, art experiences, and lots of good books.

  • Toys available in the cuddlebug room:
    Birth to 9 months:
Toys that engage your baby's senses, such as mobiles, rattles, chunky board and tactile books. Toys that help him/her learn cause and effect, such as pop-up toys and busy boxes.
9 to 18 months: Toys that imitate real life, such as plastic tools, play food, and animal farms. Problem-solving toys that help children learn how things fit together, such as shape sorters and nesting cups. Push and pull toys and balls also let toddlers move their active bodies.
18 to 24 months: Materials that help them use their hands to create, such as play dough, crayons, and finger paints. Objects that help children use their imaginations, such as dress-up clothes, action and animal figures, dolls, and stuffed animals. At some point around your child's second birthday, with agreement with you, they will be moved into the "big boys and girls room" - Jitterbugs.

  • cuddlebugs programme
cuddlebugs follow a loosely programmed day, with lunch and snacks served at the same time daily. We understand that every child is unique, they have their own little likes and dislikes during their daily routine. This is why we adopt a child centred approach.

  • Our Parent partnership begins here in the cuddlebug room, Donna our Depute Manager takes care of all our little cuddlebugs and will work with you to develop your childs routine. She will discuss with you every aspect of your child's care, from feeding to sleep routines, they are all based on your preferences. We will try to stick to any routine that your baby follows, we want to make sure that your child is happy and settles well with us. We make every effort to create a home from home atmosphere that every little cuddlebugs deserves.

  • Daily doodle Reports
You can be assured that our experienced and skilled staff always respond promptly to your child's changing and feeding needs. All doodlebug staff have warm, positive and responsive relationships with all our children. Daily doodle reports summarise all feeding, sleeping, nappy changes and activity interests through out the day.
